What do you think?

As you all know, Holly Madison is pretty much my favorite!  We are like soul sisters, we have so much in common!  Except for a few minor details….one being that she is super-famous….but whatever….

Holly Madison

Holly in Las Vegas

Here is Holly at an event that was held at the Bellagio this past weekend.  What do you all think of her dress?  I don’t think Holly looks hideous or anything, but I don’t like the dress.  It just doesn’t look like her.

This is more Holly-like:

Or this:

Red-hot Holly!

Or even this:

Holly loves football!

Just not this:

What do you think?  Am I wrong about this?  Do you like this dress on Holly?

Girl Scout Cookies

Yesterday we had a belated party to celebrate my grandparents 65th wedding anniversary!

Vanilla with custard!

My sister Shelby & her hubby Matt

notice the cookies in the background.......

Ky-Ky and I

Notice the look on Kyle Thomas’ face?  He was showin’ off his sexy braces……

My little cousin, who is a girl scout,  was in attendance at the anniversary party.  She is a darn good saleswoman, because in the end we walked away with three boxes of cookies!

We chose Caramel Delites, Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patties.  Dangerous to have around the house, let me tell you!  Girl Scout Cookies are good Really good.  At the moment they are tucked away in the freezer, where they will hopefully stay for a long time….

So, did any of you watch the Academy Awards last night?  I am anxious to see what everyone is saying about all the red carpet fashion!  Anyhoo, I have to go get ready for work now, so I will see you all later tonight!  Happy Monday!

Oscar madness!

I have to say, I wasn’t crazy about Anne Hathaway or James Franco as Academy Award hosts.  I thought they did average, at best.  I typically like James, but I am not a big fan of Anne.  She is too pale!  And I thought she was slightly annoying tonight.  It seemed like she was trying too hard to be funny and clever.  She did wear a couple of nice gowns, though.  And Ky-Ky and I both thought James was acting weird, like he was high or something.  Just sayin’…..

Onto the fashion!  I actually saw lots of “likes” tonight, and I usually hate a lot of stuff…..

Natalie Portman

Natalie looks pretty!  I don’t like purple, but this deep-plum color looks really good on her!  I am glad that she won in her category and I think she looks great!

Sandra Bullock

Another like for me!  Sandra looks lovely in red!  Perhaps a bit too pale, and I would’ve like to see her hair more soft, maybe worn down, but she still looks good!  Sandra is red-hot!

Mila Kunis

Mila might just make me change my mind about the color purple!  I love this dress on her!  So feminine and pretty!  She looks light and billowy in her lavender lace!  Love it!

Nicole Kidman

Nicole is tall and thin and can probably pretty much wear anything and look good, but not this.  And it is not that it looks bad on her, the dress looks bad all on its own.  It is hideous.  Sorry, Nicole, I don’t like this dress on you!

Reese Witherspoon

Okay, so Reese looks pretty.  But there is really nothing that stands out about her in this dress.  Like I said, she does look nice, but I just don’t look at her and say to myself “wow!!”  Kinda plain, in my opinion.

Michelle Williams

I like this!  Michelle looks really nice!  I like her platinum blonde hair, and I think it looks really pretty with her sparkly gown.  She looks very elegant!

Scarlett Johansson

This is an absolute LOVE for me!  Scarlett looks so totally gorgeous!  Enough said!

Gwyneth Paltrow

I like this dress on Gwyneth.  It is flattering and pretty and I am really liking the shimmery-gold with her light hair!

Halle Berry

Another LOVE for me!  I think Halle said this dress was by Marchesa, so no wonder it is gorgeous!  Marchesa makes beautiful gowns!  And she looks fab!

Amy Adams

I love this color on Amy!  I really like this dress on her, I just don’t care for her jewelry.  She looks fantastic, though!

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer is sexy in red!  I sort of think this might not be dressy enough for the Academy Awards, but I still like it.  She looks good!

Helena Bonham Carter

Ugh.  I do not like this at all.  Bad outfit and bad hair.

Jennifer Hudson

What a vibrant color!  Jennifer looks fantastic!

Melissa Leo

I hate this!  I think it resembles a tablecloth a bit too much.  Ick!

Cate Blanchett

I think this dress is quite hideous.  Period.

Marisa Tomei

No thank you!  Ugly dress, and it is not flattering on Marisa.  She has a great figure, but this makes her look kind of lumpy.  I don’t like the uneven fru-fru skirt, either.

Erin Andrews

Erin Andrews is lookin’ hot, as usual!  Like the dress, hair and accessories!

Donald & Melania Trump

Forget about The Donald, Melania looks amazing!!  Love the sexy black dress!

That is enough Oscar talk for one night.  I want to know who you thought rocked the red carpet?! And who was a fashion fail?!

Oldies but Goodies!

In honor of the impending Academy Awards, here are a handful of some past-favorite dresses of mine:

Amy Adams 2009

I love this dress on Amy Adams!  She looks perfect!  The red color is great on her, it really complements her hair and skin tone.  And the chunky necklace is totally fab!  The only thing I might change about her look is give her a little more eye makeup.  I think her eyes are such an amazing color, that with a little bit of a more dramtic, smoky eye they would be incredible!  Really pop!

Michelle Williams 2006

One word: stunning.  The moment I saw Michelle in this dress it was love at first sight.  It has forever stood out in my mind as one of my all-time favorite Oscar looks.  I love it.  It is a beautiful dress, in an unexpected color.  The hair, the makeup, the accessories.  It is all perfection.  A+

Kate Hudson 2003

Kate Hudson & Chris Robinson 2003

I have never been a huge fan of Kate, but this dress is perfect for her!  It looks fantastic and I think she looks quite pretty.  Nice, soft hair and her makeup and accessories are classic and lovely.

Natalie Portman 2009

Pink=pretty!  Natalie looks so good here, pink is a great color for her!  I am not over-the-top crazy about her hair, but the dress more than makes up for it!  And the dark nail polish almost acts as its own accessory, while not “matching” it is a good accent to the pink dress.

Charlize Theron 2002

sexy back!

Charlize Theron rarely ever looks anything less than completely fabulous!  And this dress just proves that!  I love the retro-glam thing she has going on here.  So sexy and classy at the same time.    As with Amy, I would’ve liked to see a little bit more eye makeup on Charlize.  A smoky eye would really take her to the next level!  Love it, though!

What are your favorite past Oscar outfits?

Sunday morning football

So far this Sunday morning has been filled with football! Ky-Ky and I have been watching the NFL combine since 6 am. My little brother-in-law is a quarterback participating in the combine, and it has been super exciting watching him work through all the drills and exercises! He is such a talented athlete and we are so proud of him!

Now, as we all know the Academy Awards are going to be on this evening.  I told Kyle Thomas that I felt inspired to make something different tonight, so we have something good to eat while we watch the Oscars.  His response?  “Oh, yeah!  We should totally do that!”  So I guess “we” will be making something tonight, just not sure what that will be.  Any suggestions?  I don’t want to make something super elaborate, and I don’t want to make a gigantic mess in the kitchen, either.  Ky-Ky suggested something with bow-tie pasta, in honor of the snazzy dressers who will be attending the ceremony in Los Angeles.  I welcome any suggestions!!  What do you think I should make for our Academy Award dinner this evening?

Happy Sunday, friends!
