Just a few more pictures from yesterday’s excitement….
There was lots of hugging….
And me in my new hat….
I still have one more full post to do on yesterday’s draft….check back later! 🙂
Immediately following the announcement that Colin was chosen by the 49ers, the interviews started. And they didn’t stop until he left for San Francisco.
Brothers comparing notes….
A few more interviews….
More note comparing between brothers….
And some “official” photos…..
Colin had to talk to everybody on the phone…..
And then did a few more interviews….
Then to go outside to see all the neighbors anxiously waiting to congratulate Colin….
Everyone is so excited for Colin!
The children in the above picture are kids and grandkids of the neighbors. They told their friends at school that Colin is their cousin! Too cute!
I already posted this picture on Twitter, but I am going to go ahead and post it again, because it is probably my favorite from the entire day. This picture says everything……
Colin was grinning ear-to-ear literally the entire day. It was pretty great to see such a genuine smile. I know how happy I felt for Colin, so I can hardly imagine how he must’ve been feeling. The whole day was actually pretty surreal. And amazing.
I still have more pictures to share with you all, so stay tuned! 😉
Today was only the second day of the NFL Draft, but for my family, today was THE DAY. Today was the day we had all been anticipating. The day we were all waiting for. And what an incredible day it was. It is almost too amazing to describe. It is now official: my brother-in-law Colin has made it. He was drafted into the NFL by the San Francisco 49ers. He is now a professional football player, playing for a team that boasts past players such as Steve Young and Joe Montana. How completely amazing is that?! Not many people are fortunate enough to be able to say that.
And it all happened so fast! The day started out with video game playing….
In the beginning it was just the brothers playing, but eventually a couple more people joined in. Colin just loves sitting in the middle of the room right in front of the TV!! Apparently that’s how he “concentrates”…..
Then, some hanging out….Rickmeister, Ky-Ky and Colin….love to gather in the kitchen!
We then turned on the television and settled in the living room to wait for “the call”…..and when that call came Colin immediately started smiling from ear-to-ear! And that smile didn’t leave his face for the rest of the day. Madness errupted in the living room! Everyone was high-fiving and hugging Colin! A few people even burst into tears, and I have to admit, I almost cried too! All of these feelings just come over you so suddently: happiness, excitement, relief, joy, etc…..it’s amazing. Really amazing.
To be continued….
I want to give a huge CONGRATULATIONS to my brother-in-law Colin Kaepernick on being drafted to the San Francisco 49ers!!! Second round, pick number 36!! Not too shabby!! Great job, Colin!! You deserve it and we are all so proud of you! You are now a quarterback in the National Football League! Wow!
I am going to do a full post and complete wrap up of today, but I need to sort through all the pictures first! I will leave you with this smiling face….
Congratulations Colin! And good luck! Kyle Thomas and I (& everyone else!) are so, so, so incredibly proud of you!! We love you very much!
Today is Friday and today is also day number two of the NFL Draft!
Rounds two and three will be selected today. Good Luck to my brother-in-law Colin! You’ll do great and will be an absolute asset to whichever team selects you! I just know it! I can’t wait to see who we will be cheering for in this upcoming football season! So exciting!
Today was the first day of the NFL Draft, so today was a special one for my family. My brother-in-law Colin (read about him here) is an extremely talented football player and is going to get drafted into the NFL. He wasn’t drafted today, but it is going to happen tomorrow. There are seven rounds total, and today was only round one. Between Friday and Saturday there will be six more rounds. Here are some highlights of our day today:
Outside, I hung out with Sammy the Tortoise….
Contemplating going for a swim….
Aside from hanging out with the tortoise, this is how much of draft day was spent:
Playing video games….notice how someone has to sit in a chair right in the middle of the room…..
Doing phone interviews….
Shooting some hoops….
And a brief lesson in the garage….on something…..
Oh, and one last shot, just for fun…..
Tomorrow is a new day! Good things are going to happen, I can feel it!!
I like Jessica Simpson. I think she has a great singing voice and I also think she is pretty. Yes, she has put some weight on in the last year or so, but she still looks good. My problem with Jessica is simply that she wears bad outfits. Here is a picture of Jessica from just a couple of days ago….
I think she looks okay. I am not a huge fan of that dress. Actually, I think it is pretty ugly. I like the style of the dress, but not the pattern, material or the colors. And I think her hair looks a bit disheveled. Not in a good way.
I don’t know why, but it just doesn’t seem like Jessica is happy. I know she is engaged to be married and all, but she doesn’t seem to be herself. I mean, obviously I don’t know her personally, but there is a weird, unsettling vibe about her, IMO. Know what I mean?
