Britney Spears + Moschino romper = Love

Britney Spears wore a black, sort of zig-zag patterned Moschino romper with opened-toed black patent leather boots Sunday night to the VMA’s.  And she looked DEAD ON GORGEOUS!

So sexy!  And again, perfect outfit selection for the MTV VMA’s!  Not necessary to try to get too fancy!  This outfit is fun and it is definitely flattering on Britney!  And she looks happy, finally!   The only thing I didn’t like?  Britney’s acceptance speech!  She was awarded the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, which is basically the VMA’s lifetime achievement award.  So as she is accepting her award from the awkwardly dressed in drag Gaga, she reads her speech from a teleprompter!  Here is what Brit had to say (or read, rather):

“This award means so much to me, especially on the night before Michael Jackson’s birthday. He had such a huge influence on me, Gaga, and our next performer, Beyonce. Beyonce and I started out around the same time, and just like all of her fans, I fell in love with her. The first time I saw her from her singing to dancing to acting, she can do it all, she’s a triple threat, and one of the most talented people I have ever seen.”

It’s like, HELLO!  This is not about Beyonce!  This is not a tribute to Beyonce!  Okay, okay, Beyonce is fab, but this is about Britney and her lifetime achievement as a pop superstar!   Doi!  Needless to say, I was less-than-impressed by Britney’s teleprompter-driven speech.  Oh wells.  It is all over now.  At least she looked good, right?!  Britney’s VMA grade (based only on her Moschino romper): A

How would you grade Britney in her black romper and open-toed platform boots?

Saturday Morning Goth

Taylor Momsen is at it again!  The Pretty Reckless singer was on stage in her goth-stripper garb at a performance last week in Madrid.  This girl needs some serious parental supervision.  Stat.

I really loathe those long, stringy braids.  So hideous, IMO.

She totally reminds me of a character on Guitar Hero or Rock Band!  When Ky-Ky and I play, we design our girl characters to look very similar to Taylor…not intentionally of course…

I have to go get ready for work, so this post is about to come to a close.  But everyone knows how I feel about Taylor’s “look.”  I think it is inappropriate for a girl her age, and I think she is heading in the wrong direction.  She is too young to be out partying and drinking with no rules or consequences in her life.  She has plenty of time for that stuff.  No need to rush!  I just hope nothing bad happens to her and that she doesn’t end up in rehab….over and over again without success….like so many other young stars.  *fingers crossed*

***Have a great weekend!***

Do you like this dress?

There is no denying that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is a total hottie.  She is tall, thin and pretty.  Good hair and nice teeth.  She’s got it all.  Here she is at a Transformers 3 movie premiere:

Her hotness aside, there is something about this dress that I don’t like.  I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is, I just don’t care for it!  Remember when Britney Spears wore that jean dress like ten years ago?  It kind of reminds me of that!  And that isn’t a good thing….

Okay, so I guess Britney’s denim dress doesn’t really look anything like Rosie’s red strapless gown, but I still don’t like it!  I feel like it looks kinda cheap, even though it was probably ridiculously expensive!  What can I say?  I am just not feelin’ it!

Dita…you look dumb…

Here is burlesque-show-queen Dita Von Teese at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California:

Not a cute outfit, right?  I don’t like the dress or the sunglasses and I definitely HATE the red lipstick!  And she is too pale!  And this was only day number one!  The next outfit is worse….

Maybe it’s just me, I don’t know.  I do not think Dita looks fashionable, though.  I think she looks ridiculous!  And I think her choice of clothing is not appropriate for the setting!  She is at a music festival in the desert!!  Just wear a cute and comfortable sun dress or jean shorts and a tank top!!  You don’t need over-the-top sunglasses and red lipstick!!  Geez!

Stuff I love!

So, yesterday I posted about stuff that I hate.  Well, I am going to stick to that style but do the opposite!  Tell you about stuff I love!  Now, this is quite hard, because there is so much stuff that I love!  Right away about twenty things came to mind that I wanted to include.  I am only going to list five items, and I am going to exclude the extremely obvious stuff, such as candy and Barbie’s.  Duh.  You already know my love runs deep for those two things!  Here it goes….

Stuff I love:

1.  Fashion

fashion banner

I love fashion.  I love beautiful clothing, it makes you feel beautiful!  When you wear high quality clothing, it makes you stand up taller, it makes you feel pretty, feel better about yourself.  It might sound cliché, it might sound ridiculous, but it is true.  Put on a great outfit and you feel great.   Put on a slouchy, plain or ratty outfit and that is exactly how you will feel.  You will feel blah.   You will feel unmotivated.  A sense of  “oh well, I am just wearing this gross outfit, so I am not going to do anything good today” comes over you.  And it’s not just the clothing.  I love it all.  Handbags, shoes and accessories too.  I can’t get enough of it.  If I am feeling down, a great new pair of shoes will instantly make me feel better.  Always.  I love it so much that I am working on turning one of my spare bedrooms into a dressing room/closet.  An entire room dedicated to my clothes, shoes and purses.

2.  Nail polish

For me, nail polish is almost like part of your outfit.  It can really complete a “look.”  I think a nice dark polish (it doesn’t have to be black!) can make any outfit look better.  Every. Single. Time.  My own personal collection is made up of over thirty different bottles of nail polish.  I have bottles that cost two dollars and I have bottles that cost twenty dollars.  And I use each and every one.  If I had the time I would paint my nails a different color every day.  Painted nails are pretty and feminine.  For me, I just feel prettier when my nails are polished!  I feel more girly, more attractive.  Nicely done nails say that you care about your appearance, that you went that extra step to make yourself more desirable.  IMO, anyway.

3.  Animals

I love all animals!  Especially Alpaca’s!  Animals, for the most part, are friendly and loving!  They don’t understand why people are mean.  And I don’t either.  I hate people who abuse defenseless animals.  Some of my favorite animals include Alpaca’s, mini-ponies, mini-goats and donkeys.  Don’t ask me why, because I don’t really even know why.  I just love ’em!

4.  Music

Music really is a universal language.  There are so many different types and styles out there.  There really is something for everyone.  Music is something that everyone can relate to.  Music is good!!  Feeling bad, or sad, or depressed, or happy, or excited?  Play some good music and you will feel better or happier or you will at least know there is a musician out there that relates to you in some way, on some level.   Musicians are people, too.  They go through stuff, good and bad.  And when they write about their experiences and put it to music, that can really help others.  I really believe that.   Plus, how depressing would life be if there was no music?!

5.  Coffee

Coffee is great!  I love the way it tastes and smells!  I like it plain and I like it with cream.  And there is not a day that goes by where I don’t consume at least one delicious cup!  Period!

Alright, so there are a few things that I love!  Some more serious than others.  Again, this is just a random compilation of stuff that I think about on a daily basis.   I do realize that nail polish and coffee are not nearly as important as being kind to animals, and I meant everything in a lighthearted way.  I just love animals, and felt it was necessary to include a bit about the importance of being kind to them!

With that being said……

The concert! and club!

Saturday night we headed over to The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.  The lineup was as follows: Sevendust, Korn, Disturbed.  A few years ago we saw Korn perform at The Joint, so it was fun to be back again for another show!  And the show was awesome!  I wasn’t familiar with Sevendust, but they were good!  Korn was fantastic and the highlight of the show, for me, was when the lead singer’s son came out onstage to stand by his dad with a little microphone!

Jon Davis & son Pirate

It was seriously adorable!  The crowd went crazy when his son busted out with the head/hair whip!  He was only out onstage with his dad for one song, but he was on the side of the stage the entire time Korn was performing.  With his mom, of course.  What a little trooper!  After Korn was Disturbed and they, too, were good.  Their music is a little hard for my taste, but they put on a great show.  They do a lot with lights and background images, which is cool.  The concert was loud, upbeat and sooooo full of energy!  Which is why we thought it was super-weird that there was a guy behind us sleeping through most of the concert.  We were not sure if he was sleeping or if he was passed out.  We were leaning toward the latter….

A couple of pics….

Anyhoo, enough concert talk.  After the concert we waited in an insanely long line for a taxi, but eventually made it back to The Cosmopolitan.  Then we headed over to Marquee, a club inside the hotel.  Ky-Ky has a friend who works for the hotel, so he was able to pull some strings for us and get us in super-quick!  No waiting in line is the way to go!  Thanks, Tony!  We appreciate it!

Thanks Tony!

DJ Kaskade

DJ Kaskade was at the club spinnin’ tracks!  Apparently he is like, a totally famous DJ!  And there were other celebs at the club, too.  And, I don’t want to brag or anything, but I had my first glass of Dom Perignon champagne.  That’s how we do things.  Go big, baby.  Okay, well maybe I want to brag a little….And, the way it actually happened was someone at our table (someone with deep pockets) bought a bottle or two and all the girls got glasses of champagne and a strawberry.  Nice!

All in all a grrrreat Saturday night!  I think we made it back to our room sometime after 3 am….not too bad!  It is Vegas after all……

Happy Sunday night everyone!  More Vegas stuff to come tomorrow!
